Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server professional to lead and optimise all operational aspects of our database environment across Ramsay Health Care.
As part of a collaborative DBA team, you will bring both administrative and developer expertise to ensure SQL Server solutions are designed, built, and maintained to the highest standards. You’ll play a key role in driving performance, reliability, and innovation across a complex enterprise landscape.
About You
You are a technical expert with a strong track record in SQL Server environments, confident working across teams to deliver robust, high-performing database solutions.
You thrive in complex settings, bring sharp problem-solving skills, and are committed to maintaining data integrity, security, and excellence in delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in SQL Server database administration within large, complex enterprise environments
Deep expertise in SQL Server 2017 through to current versions, including SQL Server performance monitoring and debugging; creation, maintenance, and optimisation of SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and functions; and database backup and recovery
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and enhance SQL Server-based solutions, including developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts for interfacing with and supporting SQL environments and applications
Strong experience with SQL Server development tools and services, including SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS
Demonstrated success in implementing and managing high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Advanced analytical, technical design, and problem-solving capabilities
Experience managing sensitive data in line with security, privacy, and governance standards
Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
Experience within large, multi-site organisations
Experience with SolarWinds DPA or similar monitoring tools
Background in the healthcare sector
Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud
